About our Neckties
What material are they made out of?
All Proselyties are made out of 100% premium Microfiber. This tie material offers the perfect balance of luxury and practicality. While silk may offer a luxurious feel and polyester is budget-friendly, microfiber combines the best features of both materials. They are durable, resistant to stains, easy to maintain, and cost-effective. With their elegant shine and soft texture, microfiber ties provide long-lasting quality without the hefty price tag or the complicated care routine that comes with silk. This makes microfiber the ideal choice for anyone looking for a stylish, low-maintenance tie that offers both value and sophistication.
What type of necktie are they?
All Proselyties are a classic tie size of 3.5 inches wide. The classic tie is the best all-around choice due to its timeless design and versatility. The classic tie perfectly balances style and practicality, suiting nearly all body types and occasions. Whether for business, formal events, or casual settings, it offers a polished look that never feels outdated or overly trendy. Its adaptability ensures it pairs well with most suit styles and wardrobe choices, making it an essential accessory for anyone seeking a dependable, sophisticated, and enduring tie.
What are the dimensions of the tie?
All proselyties are 3.5 inches wide and 60 inches long.
Where are they made?
Our neckties are ethically made in India by experienced tie makers, ensuring exceptional quality while keeping costs reasonable for our customers. Producing ties in India allows us to avoid the nearly triple costs of domestic manufacturing in America while maintaining high standards of quality and ethics. Unlike other exporters, such as China, which often produce low-cost polyester ties under questionable conditions, India provides access to superior materials and ethical production methods. This ensures our ties deliver both value and quality you can trust.
Care Instructions
How do I clean my tie?
To clean your microfiber tie, gently hand wash it in cold or warm water, do not use hot water. Avoid wringing or twisting the tie to remove water, as this can harm the fabric. Instead, blot the tie with a towel to remove excess moisture, then hang it up to air dry. If necessary, steam or iron on a low heat setting to smooth out wrinkles, taking care not to use high heat, as it can melt or damage the microfiber. Proper care will ensure your tie stays in excellent condition.
How do I get wrinkles out of my tie?
To remove wrinkles from your tie, start by hanging it on a rack overnight to naturally smooth out light creases. If that doesn't work, try rolling the tie from the small end first and leaving it for a day to help loosen the fabric. As a final option, you can lightly iron the tie with a moist cloth to avoid damaging the fibers. This should help restore your tie to its smooth, crisp condition.
How do I remove stains from my tie?
For Water-Based Stains: For stains that are water-soluble, gently dab the area with a clean cloth soaked in baking soda or seltzer water to lift the stain.
For Oil-Based Stains: Immediately cover the stain with talcum powder, cornstarch, or borax, and leave it for several hours to absorb the oil.
For Bad Stains: If previous methods don’t work, try a spot remover—test it on the back first to ensure it won't damage the fabric. As a last resort, go to a dry-cleaner.
Can I use fabric softener or bleach on my tie?
Do not use bleach or fabric softeners on microfiber ties. Bleach can degrade the polyester and polyamide fibers, reducing their strength and performance. Fabric softeners create a coating on the fibers, which interferes with their ability to maintain structure and reduces their effectiveness. To preserve your tie’s quality and longevity, it's best to avoid these products in the cleaning process.
Can I machine wash my tie?
We do not recommend machine washing as the primary method to clean your tie. However, if necessary, you can machine wash it on a delicate cycle inside a mesh bag to prevent tangling. Be sure not to include cotton items in the same load, as microfiber can attract lint from cotton fabrics. Tumble dry on low heat, keeping the tie secured in the bag to maintain its shape. Proper care will ensure your tie remains in excellent condition.
